You’ve read our mission statement and been introduced to our founding team, as well as our other writers and non-editorial contributors. To recap, The Morning Context is in the business of publishing well-reported stories on the internet, business and chaos, both long and short.
Now, to oversee our newsroom, we’re bringing on board one of India’s finest business journalists and long-form writers.
Ashish K. Mishra, in his role as editor-in-chief, will write and edit at The Morning Context. In his 14-year journalism career, Ashish has written some of the best business feature stories and co-founded India’s first subscription-led digital publication, The Ken. Born in Kolkata, he has previously worked as a deputy editor at Mint and as a writer at Forbes India and The Economic Times. Ashish will lead the newsroom, guiding writers and shaping our coverage across categories. He’s also a new, anxious parent, always looking for parenting tips, blogs and books. You can write to him at ashish(at)mailtmc(dot)com.
(If you’ve already signed up for an account, you might have noticed Ashish in your inbox today, as the writer of our first Things Change. You can also find it here.)
In other news, our first full-fledged, long-form story comes out Monday—check out our publishing calendar if you haven’t yet. As does our paywall; Shorts and Things Change will remain free. See you then.
