Why IIM Mumbai’s sustainability programme is such a big draw

The application numbers point to an unmet demand for sustainability courses that could help land ‘green jobs’

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai saw a massive jump in admission applications for the academic year 2025-26, its second admission cycle since it was turned into an IIM. While the near fifty-fold increase over the previous year made a lot of noise, the more important figure to look at is how many applications it received for its sustainability management programme.
