InMobi’s Glance is ditching its consumer business model

The company, which shows content and ads on smartphone lock screens, is giving up on wooing users and advertisers and shifting to wooing developers.

“Till June last year, they were not harnessing even a single order from live streams,” says a former employee of Glance. “In June 2022, there was a Glance live fest for five days and they hit three orders.” 

“In the first few months [the performance] was very poor, one of the worst numbers [seen] with the kind of scale Glance has. Senior leaders were very sceptical and vocal about whether we even need live commerce,” adds a second former employee of the company.
