The resignation comes even as several attempts to revive the airline have come to a standstill.

Jet Airways CEO designate Sanjiv Kapoor has resigned, reinforcing the belief that the revival of the erstwhile full-service airline now looks improbable.

“Today is his last working day,” says a senior executive from within the airline, asking not to be named. The Jalan-Kalrock consortium, which had won the bid to revive the carrier, released a statement on Friday confirming the resignation. It also said a new CEO will be appointed shortly.
