Editor's note: It isn’t everyday that I get a subject that drops right into Things Change, so I’ll get straight to it. Early this week, fantasy gaming startup Dream11 won the title rights to the Indian Premier League, one of the largest carnivals in our cricket-crazy nation. From The Economic Times: India’s leading fantasy gaming company Dream11 will be the title sponsor of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is scheduled to kick off on September 19th in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dream11 won the rights with its bid of Rs 222 crore, Brijesh Patel, chairman of the IPL Governing Council told ET. There were two other bids. Byju’s, India’s largest education technology company, which bid Rs 201 crore, and Unacademy, another edtech startup, which bid Rs 171 crore. While there was a frenzy of reporting around all sorts of companies bidding for the IPL, from Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Ltd (who kept saying he’d step in to put up money, if nobody else does and a lot of other curious things) to Reliance Jio (they denied …
