Editor's note: Two unfortunate incidents took place on 28 July this year. Adil Ahmed Taher was on his way to deliver his fifth order of the day in the Hyderabad suburb of Gachibowli. It was 11 am and the 25-year-old was five and a half hours into his shift of eight hours and forty-five minutes. While crossing from a signal, his moped was hit by a tractor. After lying bleeding at the spot for 25 minutes, he was first taken to a nearby government hospital and then to a private facility. At 1 pm, just 21 days after signing on as a delivery partner with Swiggy, Adil died, leaving behind a wife and an infant daughter.
