I operate the most extensive personal “medical Twitter” (#medtwitter) account on X in India. As I inched closer to 190,000 followers, I found myself suddenly cut off from my rigorously active virtual world one fine day. At 1:53 pm on 28 September, I suddenly lost access to my X (formerly Twitter) account. Initially, the message that flashed across my screen was that X had withheld my account globally in response to a legal demand.
