What is wrong with Indian diets?

Whether you like it or not, the different diets followed by most Indians across the country lack adequate nutrition.

Let me set the record straight: nutrition is different from diet. While diet is the sum of food consumed by a person, nutrition is, to oversimplify, the quality of the consumed diet. There are different types of diets, but not all of them are nutritionally adequate. 

For example, a vegetarian diet lacks vitamin B12 and omega-3 fatty acids, which are derived from animal products.
