Editor's note: Update: Udaan on Thursday announced a second round of layoffs this year. The number is estimated to be upwards of 30% of its workforce, or around 1,000 people, according to multiple employees of the company. B2B e-commerce startup Udaan is going for another round of layoffs as it continues to revamp its operations, according to three people who asked not to be named. It’s going to be a significant number, although we couldn’t ascertain the exact figure since the workforce includes people involved in ground operations, who aren’t classified as employees. This would be Udaan’s second round of job cuts this year. Earlier, in June, the firm claimed that it had fired 180 people, while The Morning Context recently reported that the number was upwards of 700. The Bengaluru-headquartered company has attempted to restructure its operations and workforce over the past two quarters. In the process, it has moved out of some markets, shrunk product categories, reduced the number of warehouses and fired people.
