After collapse of Zee deal, Sony eyeing fresh M&A options in India

The Japanese media giant’s head honcho says several conversations are on, and that the long-drawn Viacom18-Disney merger may actually be a blessing.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is exploring new merger and acquisition deals in India, according to the company’s chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.

Vinciquerra said this during the company’s Business Segment Meeting 2024 on Thursday. This comes after the failed merger between Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Sony Group Corp’s India business, Sony Pictures Networks India. (Read: A blow-by-blow account of how the Sony-Zee merger came undone)
