Sanjiv Kapoor takes over as CEO of Flyadeal

Flyadeal is the low-cost arm of Saudia, the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia.

Aviation industry veteran Sanjiv Kapoor has taken over as the chief executive officer of  Flyadeal, the low-cost airline owned by Saudi Arabian Airlines, the country’s flag carrier. 

In May, Kapoor had joined the Saudia group, as Saudi Arabian Airlines is commonly known, as advisor to Ibrahim Al-Omar, the director general of the group. He had moved from Jet Airways, where he was CEO-designate. 

Kapoor, who also had stints at Vistara and SpiceJet, takes over at Flyadeal at a time when the country is investing billions of dollars into its economy as it looks to diversify beyond its mainstay sector, oil. …
