AWS Private 5G just added to Amazon cloud’s appeal

Rolled out in parts of the US and set to go international soon, the service offers companies a mobile network they can control and customize.

Amazon Web Services has launched a new service—AWS Private 5G—designed to help enterprises deploy their own private 5G networks. The service was announced in an early preview late last year but is now officially available to AWS customers starting in its US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions. AWS says that the service will be rolled out internationally “in the near future”.

AWS Private 5G is a managed service that “makes it easy to deploy, operate, and scale your own private mobile network, with all required hardware and software provided by AWS”.
