Editor's note: A nursery school in Mumbai’s Malabar Hill received a fresh coat of paint as part of a spruce-up late last year. It would have been a regular affair except all the work was ostensibly sponsored by the Mukesh Ambani family. Its newest member, grandson Prithvi, had enrolled in the school. But the child hasn’t been attending school since it reopened in June. Cut to the main block of the Reliance Jio headquarters on the Thane-Belapur road, which was cordoned off and employees working in it moved to other offices so it could exclusively be used by the top management. The building hasn’t seen a visit by either Ambani’s son Akash or daughter Isha in a while. That’s because the family is at their 300-acre property near London, where Mukesh Ambani is spending a lot of time these days. While Ambani did make a public appearance in Mumbai in June, when he attended a public dance performance by his soon-to-be daughter-in-law at the Jio Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex and was seen carrying Prithvi, he flew back to London soon …
