Campbell Wilson is on his way out of Air India. With this, N.Chandrasekaran’s promise to transform the airline within five years of the ownership change in January 2022 has also collapsed. By all means, getting an expat to lead this transformation hasn’t exactly worked out. Yet, the Tata Sons chairman seems to want only an expat to lead Air India.
On Monday, news broke that Chandrasekaran was scouting for candidates to replace Wilson. The report added that the airline’s chairman had held talks with chief executives of two international carriers in the US and the UK.
