Editor's note: Mukesh Bansal is no longer overseeing operations at Tata Digital. The president of the Tata group’s internet arm has decided to move away from the company’s day-to-day activities, especially those involving the conglomerate’s super app, Tata Neu. Bansal will instead be spending more time at Cult.fit, the fitness chain he founded seven years ago, according to three people aware of the matter, who did not want to be named. The Economic Times first reported the development two weeks ago. However, Bansal had been contemplating change for a while and seems to have made the decision some time late last year, says one of the three people cited above. It’s important to note here that Bansal’s move is not an exit, but more of a change in his role and priorities. He may no longer be actively involved in the company, but is still in touch with its management—advising and consulting on business decisions, according to the second of the three people.  Specifics aside, the move is a significant development for the four-year-old Tata Digital.
