Bharti Airtel extended its deal with Nokia to improve its 5G capacity and coverage, along with modernising its 4G network.
Finnish multinational corporation Nokia on Wednesday announced that it has been awarded a “multi-billion dollar” 5G extension deal from Bharti Airtel. As part of the contract extension, Nokia will deploy 4G and 5G equipment across the country for the telecom provider.
Nokia will include base stations, baseband units and Massive MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) radios to help Airtel 5G capacity and coverage. The company will also modernise Airtel’s existing 4G network with multiband radios and baseband equipment, which can also support 5G.
