CE Info Systems Ltd, parent of home-grown map service provider MapmyIndia, has sent a legal notice to Ola, accusing it of copying its proprietary data to build Ola Maps.
The notice states that Ola cached, saved and reverse-engineered MapmyIndia's licensed data from a prior partnership between the two and duplicated its proprietary application programming interface (API) and software development kits (SDK) to construct Ola Maps. Basically, calling Ola’s claim that it developed the API and map data solely through open-source data false.
