NCLT admits Byju's to bankruptcy process

Acting on a petition filed by BCCI over unpaid dues, the tribunal appoints a resolution professional to oversee the edtech firm until a buyer can be found.

Think and Learn Pvt. Ltd, the parent company of embattled edtech firm Byju's, has been admitted to the insolvency resolution process by the National Company Law Tribunal. The NCLT decision followed a petition filed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over allegedly unpaid dues of Rs 158 crore.

BCCI had dragged Byju’s to the tribunal in September last year over a dispute regarding the sponsorship of the Indian cricket team’s jerseys. Read: BCCI drags Byju’s to NCLT.
